In South America, particularly in Uruguay, Argentina, and Brazil, drinking mate is more than a habit; it's a daily ritual akin to Italians savoring espresso or the English enjoying tea. The tradition dates back to the Guarani Indians, whose knowledge of this invigorating herb was passed down to Spanish colonizers in the 16th century. They cherished the energizing and health-boosting properties of mate, infusing it in hot water and sipping it from a gourd through a metal straw known as a bombilla.

Yerba mate, scientifically known as Ilex paraguariensis, thrives in the border region of Uruguay, Brazil, and Argentina. Its leaves are rich in polyphenols and antioxidants, promoting detoxification and diuretic effects. Yerba mate contains mateine, a compound similar to caffeine, which energizes both body and mind. The simple yet powerful ingredients include yerba mate, sugar, and alcohol, creating a beverage that truly embodies the spirit of South America.

The Yerbito logo is a tribute to the nations where mate is a cultural cornerstone. The shape of the logo mirrors the traditional mate gourd and bombilla, while the sun at the center, the Sol de Mayo, symbolizes the Inca Sun God Apu Inti, reflecting its importance in Uruguayan and Argentine heritage. The vibrant yellow and blue colors evoke the Brazilian flag, and the font is inspired by La Boca, a historic neighborhood in Buenos Aires known for its Italian immigrant community.
